State Testing

It's the time of year when state testing begins. Some states have already started. Now, we all know very well that this equation is true:

State Testing = STRESS!

Why did I change my font for that?

Anyways, in my school, we are going to do CBT(Computer Based Testing) for reading and math. Many of my friends are complaining that it's so horrible, but I don't think it's bad at all! I am actually very fond of the fact that the officials decided to change our testing to be computer based.

About a week ago, our teachers took us to the computer lab so that we could be "trained" to use the testing program. Like our generation needs that. The questions were easy though, and I am not sure if the teacher graded them.

Next week, the majority of the student body will be testing, so the whole school will be crazy. Everyone will be moving around to their testing sites, and entire classes will have to change rooms to let the students take their test. I can't seem to understand why we have to change rooms when testing. When I was in elementary we just took our tests in our own classroom. I don't see the problem with that, considering we have about three weeks to test and we could alternate using the computer labs AND media center. I will never understand the minds of this generation's adults.

Most of my teachers have already entered "Crunch Time", when they build up on teaching material and dump it upon us like an avalanche of information, destroying everything in its path and taking up space in our hollow minds while mentally freezing us. Wait. What?

What I mean to say is, this period of time during the school year is probably extremely stressful to most people(not including me) and they might be a bit frustrated. If you are not testing, please be kind to your peers and tolerate them if they are grumpy. They are probably tired from studying, so instead of yelling back at them, buy them some low-fat ice cream and propose to have a day out with them as a break from all that information.
